Deleting your data

Gatwyn is a customer-support service run by GATE A1 Limited. This page explains how each kind of data is deleted. The privacy policy has the details.

If you run a business on Gatwyn

• An owner of a workspace can delete it in Settings → Workspace. Everything in it — conversations, customers, files, connected WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger accounts and the Shopify connection — is deleted seven days later. Until then the owner can cancel the deletion.
• To erase one customer without deleting the workspace, an owner or admin opens the customer’s profile and chooses Delete this customer. The customer, every conversation they started, everything they wrote and their files are deleted at once.
• Before deleting, an owner can export all of the workspace’s data from the same page.
• Encrypted backups expire 35 days after they are taken, so deleted data is gone from them within 35 days. Backups are never used to bring back a single deleted workspace.
• Disconnecting a WhatsApp number, a Facebook Page or an Instagram account in the workspace stops Gatwyn receiving and sending on it at once.

If you have a Gatwyn account

You can download your personal data and delete your account under Your account. If you are the only owner of a workspace, make someone else an owner there or delete the workspace first.

If you wrote to a business that uses Gatwyn

The business decides what happens to your messages, and Gatwyn keeps them on its behalf. To have your data deleted, ask the business you wrote to: it can delete your profile and your conversations in Gatwyn. If you cannot reach the business, or you are not sure which business it is, write to info@gatea1.com with the phone number, email address or account you wrote from. We will pass your request to the business, or act on it ourselves where the law requires.
